Regardless of your reasons for coming here, let me personally assure you that this is the right place to
study hypnotherapy! If you are
interested in becoming a hypnotist or master hypnotist, most likely you will continue on through to become
a certified hypnotherapist.
After four months of researching other countries and cities that offer a diploma in this field, Sherry M.
Hood's course is the only one
that is an elective for one studying medicine in a University. It's no great surprise that this fact alone places
the PIAH ahead of the pack!
Sherry's personality is too humble to have made that a hook into reeling me into her course as I found out
this amazing news once I
had already enrolled and was a week into the program! Don't be doubtful about what you can learn in 160
hours of class time - because
the hours you spend excitedly learning what you must to keep up with her, adds a minimum of 160 hours
plus in homework.
Not only did I come away from her course with a diploma and with the knowledge to help other people -
which in itself is a
priceless gift - I left with the full sense of wholeness ! And with the individual awareness that miracles
begin from within!

I attended PIAH in May 2011 and it was an experience that is at the top of my list. Sherry is an amazing
teacher who has an incredible passion for Hypnotherapy and her students. To me as a class we came
together more like a family than just friends. My experience attending the school made me learn not just
about hypnotherapy but more about myself, I didn’t want to leave. I am so excited to apply what I have
learned to help others and to my own life to better myself. I would recommend PIAH to anyone who is
interested in learning Clinical Hypnotherapy.

After having done my own research in selecting a school and graduating from PIAH, I have no doubt that I
made an excellent choice in choosing PIAH. This is a most comprehensive course that is academically solid,
technically complete, and best of all, it is taught by a amazing teacher, Sherry Hood, whose experiences,
knowledge and personality make the course extraordinarily incomparable to other schools.
This particular course being given approval as a recognized elective in the post-graduate family medicine
program at University of Alberta (as in the front page of this website) is due to Sherry's many years of
dedication professionally and that is one of the great examples of who she is. She is very genuine yet
professional. She is patience and fair with every student. She is extremely knowledgeable and dependable
with answering all the questions I have. She is passionate about what she does. Her commitment and
dedication are inspiring to all students. Her accomplishment is worthy of true respect and yet she has the
way to make people feel comfortable and welcomed.
I felt that the student starts building the solid foundation, right away, of knowledge in its science and the
theories, the most up-to-date information and the facts, as well as of the art and the the practical skills
while you practice with guest clients daily, with great support by the inspiring teacher. In this process, I
felt more confident in practicing the art each time, as I gain more knowledge each day of the school.
Now I am a confident new practitioner and my time is filling up working with people who are willing to
improve their lives with me. I feel so fortunate and grateful to be able to help others and I would like to
show my sincere gratitude to Sherry who taught all the things I learned during the course in both at the
professional and personal levels. This was not just a technical course for me, but it was a special personal
journey in which I have grown so much as a human being.

My name is Monique Wilson, and I have experience working with Sherry Hood on two levels. I also know
her personally.
My first experience with Sherry’s professional skills was as a client. I came to her for her Smoking
Cessation Session. I found her therapeutic knowledge instilled confidence, while her skills as a therapist
calmed me. Rapport was not difficult for her to build at all, I felt instantly reassured and at ease. I also
felt more confident in myself based on the knowledge & suggestions she gave me in preparation for the
session. The session was a wonderful success, I felt confident, calm and tremendously empowered by it. I
do not smoke cigarettes, and I haven’t since that session, over 9 years ago. I had tried different methods
of quitting, had a little success (up to 3 years), but Sherry’s session sealed it for me.
Because of this experience it was Sherry’s school, the Pacific Institute of Advanced Hypnotherapy, that I
instantly went to when considering another therapy to add to my holistic health practice. I knew that she
had created the session that led to my freedom from cigarettes, and I experienced her professionalism
from a client perspective. Personally, I know Sherry, so I know her to be compassionate, thoughtful,
passionate about Hypnotherapy, dedicated, a woman of integrity, and really knowledgeable about her
profession. This experience of her as an individual and observation of her as a professional led to my
decision to attend her school.
I am very excited about embarking on a new aspect of my healing work! I feel confident in my skills as a
Hypnotherapist. This was achieved through experiential training, abundant and thorough information
about Hypnotherapy, and very skillful teaching. Sherry is able to teach her students how to build rapport,
guide, and empower their clients. Of course, there are learning curves building your own practice, but I
know that I am prepared well for them, and this instills the kind of confidence that reassures clients. I
